VariantsDialerMaker/Cax installs cax.dll into the System32 folder. DialerMaker/SC installs sc.dll. Also known asEP-Service, after the company name in the control. DistributionDrive-by download on web pages, often porn-related pop-up ads and blind links. What it doesAdvertisingNo. Privacy violationNo. Security issuesYes, severe. When the DialerMaker ActiveX control is installed, any web page can use it to download and execute arbitrary code from any server. Stability problemsNo. RemovalOpen the Downloaded Program Files folder and delete the entry (‘CAX Object’). This is just to clear up; it does not actually remove the software. Open a Command Prompt window (click Start, open the Programs menu and the Accessories submenu; called ‘DOS Prompt’ on Windows 95/98/Me).
