An ActiveX control that downloads and installs files.

Distribution

Used by ispdialer.com (now nocreditcard.net) to install premium-rate diallers, generally for porn sites.

httpload, after its filename.

Yes. Seems to be capable of automatically installing code from any web site.

None known.

Removal

Open the ‘Downloaded Program Files’ folder in the Windows folder, right-click the ‘acx_install’ entry, and remove it.
